BioMedica, owned and published by the University of Health Sciences, Lahore, encourages authors to share the data behind their research, as far as ethics, privacy and legal limits allow.
Data availability statement
Every article should include a data availability statement that says where the data can be found, for example in a public repository, in the article and its supplementary files, or from the corresponding author on reasonable request. If the data cannot be shared, the statement should give the reason.
Repositories
Authors are encouraged to deposit data in a trusted repository that provides a persistent identifier, and to cite the dataset in the reference list.
Sensitive data
Data about people must be de-identified and shared only where consent and ethical approval allow it. Authors must not publish information that can identify patients or participants. See Protection of Research Participants.
Editorial access
The editors or reviewers may ask to see the underlying data during review, and authors should keep it for a reasonable time after publication.
